A page worth revisiting

  1. Example question

Which pages does AI use to describe my headphones?

  2. What you read

The detail view connects the domain to the cited page and the answer referencing it. The document date helps you check whether the information reflects the current offering.

  3. The next step

Prepare a proposal to update the product page, then repeat the check using the same questions.

An answer may cite several domains. Citation share does not measure traffic, authority or brand preference.

What you get

Every source has a scope.

AI answers show how the brand is presented; search results identify pages found; articles and reviews help explain circulating opinions. Check which sources are active in your workspace, in which languages and for which period.

Press and webWhich news, topics and descriptions contribute to the public perception of your brand.Publication or website, date, market and original content. Reprints of the same story are not always independent observations.
Social media and forumsHow conversations, requests and reactions develop within observable communities.Platform, language, period and authorised coverage. Collected conversations do not automatically represent all customers.

What you get

Context stays with the data.

If an answer cites an outdated specification sheet, you can trace the page and prepare an update. For news, social media, forums and reviews, collection and use depend on source agreements: verify coverage before setting up monitoring.

Answers, results, experiences

Every signal has a voice.

Sources help answer different questions. An AI answer describes your brand in the context of a prompt; a review recounts an experience; an article places a fact within the publication’s narrative.

The analysis keeps origin, unit of observation and interpretation separate. Multiple copies of an article do not become independent confirmations. Multiple results on the same platform do not necessarily represent different customers. Preserving these distinctions makes comparisons of visibility, reputation and perceived trust more useful.

Identifiable origin

The source and date let you find the content supporting the analysis.

Relevance to your brand

Name, domain and context help distinguish correct references from namesakes.

Usable content

The licence determines which excerpts may be analysed, stored and displayed.

Collection quality

A gap is not a zero.

A collection with no results and an unreachable source can look identical in a chart. Yet they mean different things: only the former supports a finding of no matches within the observed sample.

The report should make interruptions, incomplete coverage and excluded content visible. When the provider changes or a channel is added, the new scope must be stated before comparison. Otherwise, greater data availability could be mistaken for an increase in conversations or brand presence.

Understanding what is missing
SituationWhat we knowHow to interpret the result
Collection completed with no matchesThe intended scope was observed. No matches within that scope; no conclusion about excluded channels.
Incomplete collectionSome observations cannot be used.Retain the actual sample and identify the gap.
Source unauthorised or unreachableNo valid observation is available.Report the unavailability without turning it into a measured value.

Transparent coverage

Know how far your view extends.

Online media monitoring does not automatically include print, television or paywalled content. A social source does not guarantee access to every platform, conversation or historical period.

For each service, check countries, languages, channels, historical depth and usage rights. Customer sources such as Analytics and Search Console require authorisation for the selected property. Coverage must be documented for each connection; a list of logos cannot replace that check.

Distinct perspectives
  1. Channels actually covered
  2. Available markets and languages
  3. Accessible historical depth
